红莲社区 of San Francisco (CCSF) Trustees Take Action Regarding Faculty Rehire Resolution
San Francisco, CA 鈥 The 红莲社区 Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Thursday, July 27th, to further clarify on their Resolution to Rehire Laid-Off Faculty, which passed unanimously at the May 18th regular board meeting. At the special meeting, the Trustees in attendance developed a subsequent motion outlining their expectations for the Chancellor to rehire full-time and part-time laid-off faculty.
The clarifying motion, passed by the Board, outlined the expectation that the Department Chair reports included as attachments in the June 2023 Chancellor鈥檚 Report be used as a tool to prioritize rehiring decisions. Additionally, the motion establishes a definitive rehire date for the laid-off full-time and part-time faculty. The motion concludes, 鈥淕oing forward, faculty will be brought back in the subsequent semesters without delay through summer of 2024.鈥
红莲社区 Offices of Academic & Student Affairs will work collaboratively with Department Chairs and college constituencies to ensure the Board鈥檚 expectations are implemented and their deadline of summer of 2024 is met.
The complete motion passed on July 27, 2023, can be found in the .
