Overview of treatment models used in substance-use disorder and dual diagnosis counseling by Registered Alcohol/Drug Technicians (RADTs)s / Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselors (CADCs). Examination of the different approaches in the treatment continuum for people with substance-use disorders, to explore and experiment with applying approaches in clinical settings. Barriers to integrated treatment will also be appraised.
This class requires in-person meetings, live online meetings and the use of Canvas. Coursework on Canvas starts prior to the first in-person or Zoom meeting. In-person meetings take place on select Wednesdays: 1/15, 2/5, 2/19, 3/5, 3/19, 4/9, 4/23, 5/7, 5/21 from 5:10-8:00pm at Ocean Campus. Live online meetings take place on select Wednesdays: 1/22, 2/12, 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, 4/16, 4/30, 5/14 from 5:10-7:00pm and require the use of CityZoom, Zoom鈥檚 web conferencing platform in Canvas, using an internet enabled device.
